1. The MasterCard CheckCard transaction is called "Credit" but it isn't a credit card?
Right. It is not a credit card. Funds come immediately from checking. The MasterCard system handling the transaction for you is triggered by the term "Credit".
2. The CheckCard still works at ATMs?
Yes. You can use it at ATMs for instant cash - from savings or checking - wherever you see the Cirrus or Maestro logos worldwide, or THE EXCHANGE logo regionally.
3. Does the ATM function work wherever the MasterCard logo is posted?
No. The ATM feature gives you access to cash worldwide through the CIRRUS-MAESTRO network, and regionally through THE EXCHANGE network. Look for either of those two logos on the ATM unit.
The DEBIT feature lets you pay for purchases, and get cash back, at merchants regionally through THE EXCHANGE network and Cirrus network.
The CREDIT feature lets you pay for purchases at merchants without cash back worldwide through the MasterCard network.
4. Why do you call it a CheckCard when it sounds like a debit card?
Some banks call this a debit card. We call it CheckCard as a little reminder that the MasterCard CheckCard used at point of sale can only draw funds from a checking account.
5. Can I link the CheckCard to my savings account?
Yes. A savings account is optional.** The checking account is mandatory. The ATM debit function will draw from savings and/or checking. The MasterCard CheckCard only draws from checking. We cannot issue an ATM/CheckCard without a checking account.
** Some savings accounts have restrictions on the number of withdrawals in a month. check with our Customer Service Representatives about your options.

There is no overdraft fee on your debit card transaction. However, recurring abuse may lead to your card being temporarily or permanently revoked.
10. Does the MasterCard logo make this a credit card?
No. The MasterCard logo gives your CheckCard worldwide access. However, it is NOT a credit card. The transaction may be rejected if your Checking account does not have enough funds. 11. Can I get cash back from any CheckCard transaction?
No. You can only get cash on ATM/debit transactions using your PIN |
