Samantha Looney is on her way to Australia this summer as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program. The program promotes international understanding while building leadership skills among America’s youth. The 20-day experience includes meetings with government officials, interaction with other studens her age, educational activities, and home stays with host families. As an Ambassador, the experience can earn her high school and college credit. People to People, founded in 1956 by Dwight D. Eisenhower, has also launched the international programs Sister Cities and Project HOPE. Looney is a 9th Grade student at New Buffalo High School.
