Community Shred Day a success
They arrived around 8:30, people with trunk loads of boxes, bags and laundry baskets. The Shred-It truck was reported to be down at the beach. Kip, the Shred-It driver, had arrived early and was enjoying a cup of coffee at the lake. Barry Griffin, a New Buffalo Savings Bank commercial loan officer, went to collect him and we started shredding early.The crowd was non-stop throughout the morning and Ron Farina, president of the bank, had to turn people away before noon as we were afraid we would not be able to accommodate all the folks already in line.Over 120 people showed up and we shredded around 9000 pounds of paper, filling the truck. (Something Kip said hardly ever happens!)
